According to two studies conducted in 2007 and 2009 by LGBT demographer, Gary Gates, approximately 700,000 Americans, about 0.3 percent of U.S. adults, identify as being transgender. With that many people living in the U.S. who identify as being transgender, why is there still so many misconceptions about transgender men and women?
